Eldercare Foundation has been focusing on training, nurturing and tracking down newly trained Geriatric Care Givers.

Capacity Building of Caregivers in geriatrics focuses on strengthening the skills, knowledge and resources of individual caregivers in their own categories and the Eldercare Foundation to effectively address the needs of older adults, encompassing areas like healthcare, social services and community support.

Sphere of Geriatric Care include:

  • Personal Care: Assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Cleaning Assistance: Performing light household chores to maintain a clean and safe environment for better hygiene.
  • Counsellor: Geriatric counselling provides specialized mental health support for older adults, addressing issues related to aging, transitions and maintaining well-being.
  • Geriatrician: Offers personalized counseling, lifestyle advice, diagnoses, treatment, and helps manage health insurance and medical budgets.
  • Dietician: Provides personalized nutrition plans, addresses age-related conditions and promotes healthy aging.
  • Psychiatrist: Plays a critical role in mental health care including depression, anxiety and dementia management.
  • Physiotherapy Assistance: Helps with physical challenges, mobility improvement, pain management and independence.
  • Pathological Tests: Regular testing is essential to monitor internal organs like brain, heart, kidney, and liver for balanced health management.
  • Nursing Care: Includes chronic disease management, palliative care, dementia care, medication, mobility, personal and respite care.
  • Nutritious Food: Delivered to those who can't cook, tailored to their medical needs by doctors and dieticians or prepared by a provided cook.
  • Cognitive Assistance: Combines mental stimulation, physical activity, social engagement, yoga, tech interventions and spiritual activities.
  • Safety & Security: Ensures home safety, visiting assistants, regular checks and full-time vigilance to ensure physical and emotional security.
  • Legal Assistance: In coordination with NALSA; covers will registration, banking, pensions, insurance, nominations, taxes, and utility bills.
  • Ambulance Services: On-call with trained drivers sensitive to geriatric needs for safe transport.

Assistance during Doctor Visits: Trained staff including counsellors and nurses accompany the elderly for specialist consultations or treatments.
